The Cumberland Bay Cottage

A Nancy Meyers-Inspired Escape in New Brunswick, Canada

Cumberland Bay Cottage is a quaint lakeside home in New Brunswick designed as a true escape from busy everyday life. Our clients fully embraced my vision from the beginning, leaning into a warm, timeless aesthetic inspired by the effortless charm of a Nancy Meyers home.

Soft, calming tones of blues and green carry throughout the space with my go-to Sherwin-Williams Alabaster on the walls, Evergreen Fog in the laundry room, and Drift of Mist on the kitchen cabinetry. A cast-stone propane fireplace and vertical shiplap panelling throughout the open concept space adds the perfect amount of character. We went with a combo of wrought iron and polished nickel fixtures throughout, and mixed new furniture with some vintage touches. A combo of floral and striped patterns on the textiles helped add the “comfy cottage” vibe.
